Sick of MMORPGs because of their overwhelming sameness and lack of imagination on the part of the player, I recently decided to start playing pen-and-paper Dungeons & Dragons again. This began as a portrait for a character I'm going to be playing in an online campaign.

Painted in Corel Painter IX with a Wacom Graphire Tablet. The beginning stages were painted in Photoshop CS2, as was a bit of post work to make it look like a lithograph.

I used this stock photo as a clothing/pose reference, but took a few liberties with the face and hands:

This is the first work of art I've attempted in two years. Even though there are a few rough spots and my impatience shows, it's good to know I still have "it."
